Classic... absolutely classic.
So here's the question. How do you take a concept like Star Wars: Galaxies and it's upcoming expansion, Jump to Light Speed, and manage it in a text-based environment? Right now, it seems to be easiest if most interactions are done turn-based relative to the interacting entities (ie, you move around the environment real-time, but combat is done turn-based but only for the players in the combat, etc). Does that seem like a reasonable assessment?

Troy
Went and saw Troy tonight... and I don't wanna sound like a queer, but I think Brad Pitt is a damn fine actor. Not that he did an overly incredible job in this one, but because he's believable in almost all of his roles. If you haven't seen 12 Monkeys and you think you might like his acting, see it and you'll be a believer.
Second thing... Rose Byrne is hot, and I'm not saying that just because she was half-naked. She has some similarities in looks to Monica Belluci (of The Matrix fame) and hopefully we'll get to see more of her acting talent in future movies. Oh, and she's Australlian... which in my opinion, is second only to Canada when it comes to producing beautiful women.
Final thing... why does Hollywood fuck with good stories? They didn't destroy this one, thank god, but it could've been truer to the mythology. Homer gave us something from a time that all other stories have been lost and it should be treated as such.
Radio
If you've got WinAmp or XMMS, you should turn on Chronix (http://www.chronixradio.com/). They're outta Colorado and rock major heaviness. They've had some major hosting problems recently though, so it may buffer a couple of times. Even with the drop outs, it's still some ass thrashing good stuff.

Wizards of the Coast Star Wars D20 rules
Do any of the two people that read this thing know where I can find the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars D20 rules online? The fucking book of them is like $30 from Amazon and I've got Knights of the Old Republic on the way (it was a $20 game that got me free shipping from Amazon) and I don't know piss from shit about D&D or the rules for such games. Low and behold, the FAQ for the game says it's made for casual Star Wars fans and hardcore RPG Otakus (would you believe, I'm the exact fucking opposite), so if you know the damn rules you should be okay. Oh, and the best part? I googled for straight d20 rules and half the sites were bitching about how complex they are.
I feel like I'm either going to screw myself out of $20 or into being a D&D loser. I'm praying for the former, but I really hate wasting money if I don't have to. I'm okay being a Star Wars shut-in, but this whole D&D thing may put me out of contention with the opposite sex, you know what I mean?
Poker
So last night was the big game. Supposed to be 7 players, 3 flaked.
$40 on the line and I come out strong. I get Joe to tilt and he almost drops. Steve and Gonzolo have it out themselves and the three end up evened out at the bottom. Then I hit the 10. Something clicked and I thought a 10 high could take the pot. It was downhill from there. Chasing straights and flushes like a dog chases tail. Joe drops and I'm soon to follow. Somehow everything ended up in Steve's hands and I'm $10 the poorer, which is saying a lot when you're this poor.
I had a good run at the start, so I'm happy about that. I played the hands as they came and kept my bets low enough to force everyone on edge. Once that infamous 10 hand came, I just couldn't keep it together. Gonzolo kept giving me these "I'm gonna fuck you up kid" looks every time I got a decent hand, and threw my entire game off. Or maybe I tilted, I'm not sure. It was late. Good fun, though. I recommend a healthy nite of gambling to everyone.

Bonsai
My bonsai has been holding onto its life for some time now. It seems almost cruel to keep it going when it really has no place here.
Just when I thought my faith in famous people was burnt out, I find this: http://www.margoharshman.com/. If you've seen Even Stevens, you know who she is. It's good to know that there are still some decent people being bread in Arizona Bay. Hopefully she'll have a paramount career, possibly replacing one of the much adored and maligned washouts people seem to worship these days.

Morgan Webb
Morgan Webb is hot. I'm considering busting out my probability book to see if it can help me figure the odds if I made the trek to san fransisco. Something's telling me that it probably won't have much to help me in this quest. But I think she likes Transformers, so maybe I can work that angle. Maybe.
Oh... and I rectract my previous statement. Allston may not be able to convey realistic dialog, and he may not be able to convey realistic character personalities, but he sure made me upset when several of the Wraiths died. I'm actually kind of excited to finish his set, just to see what happens to the other members. Even if they won't necessarily get there through a believable collection of events.

Mushroomhead
See, I knew I'd forget something and then come back to make an update before my obligatory first month off from posting (do the kids even say 'posting' anymore?) at this damn thing.
I gotta say, Mushroomhead is the goddamn shit. They're so much money that I might even have to head off to urbandictionary.com to find some ebonics that really encompass the amount of ass they kick. And yeah, they did it before Slipknot, so grow a pair and recognize.
