I've seen a lot of articles on Digg lately about the massive amounts of douchebag Guidos on the intertubes and it got me to thinking. I'm a nerd, I fully accept this. It's part of my persona. I have no delusions about being cool or hip or whatever the kids are calling it today. I know I'm a nerd. So obviously these guys must know they're douchebags? Right?

Python notes for myself

filter = [x for x in S if P(x)]
map = [F(x) for x in S]
reduce(+, L) = sum(L)
reduce(&&, L) = all(L)
reduce(||, L) = any(L)
reduce(*, L) = nothing yet :(

reduce() goes away in Python 3000, but the others remain, although list comprehension is generally faster than the inevitable lambda that gets used in filter/map/reduce.
