So I put Tomato on my router a few weekends ago. Today I decided to hit up a couple large bittorrents and naturally I watched my network slow to a crawl. My logs are filling up with invalid packets that I can't explain, and this is after fixing all of the packets that were being dropped by my shit firewall settings.
Sooo, I thought it would be fun to see if I can fix things to let me surf the net while hammering shit with downloads. 30 minutes later, I've got 2 torrents going at around 40-50KB/s up and down (total between the 2 torrents, which seems kinda slow but I haven't been able to get it going any faster) and I can surf the net hassle free.
Pretty happy overall with the network these days. I've got rsync backups going, TV recordings, a re-worked website, lots of crap moved into svn, and somewhere around here is a partridge in some sort of fruit tree. Good stuff all around.
