Looks like it's not just the Gordons that took in the Muirs when their male-heirless leader died. Also appears as though there's effort being made to move the clan away from being a sept. Wish I could find some genealogical evidence that this is in fact the clan my family comes from. Might have to see if I can get myself a kilt with the tartan anyway, just in case.
